XXL butt plugs and anal stretching: how to go bigger safely

Opdateret 20. oktober 2026

To go bigger safely, climb a ladder of plugs in small steps of diameter, warm up on a smaller toy every session, use far more lube than you think you need and stop at pain, never at a number. For width, follow the plug ladder below; for depth, train with a long but slimmer dildo or anal snake; to set the stretch moment by moment, use an inflatable plug. The biggest anal plug we stock, the Ouch! Ultra Collosus, reaches 14.5 cm in diameter, and nobody starts there.

Below we compare plugs from our XXL plugs and butt plugs sections and long toys from XXL dildos, with sizes from the manufacturers.

The best XXL toys by goal

  • Best to find your starting point: Sono No.80 4-Piece Butt Plug Set. Four plugs from 2.5 to 3.7 cm in diameter in one box, so you learn your comfortable size.
  • Best first step past 4 cm: Ouch! Diamond Butt Plug Extra Large. Silicone, 4.2 cm wide and 9.3 cm long, short enough to keep the focus on width.
  • Best for training width gradually: XR Brands Giant Ribbed Anal Cone. Widens from about 3.2 to 8.9 cm, with a ring every half inch, so each session you can go one ring further.
  • Best long plug with constant width: Ouch! Titan Twist. 48 cm of spiral at 5 cm throughout, on a suction base.
  • Best for depth and width together: Ouch! Pole of Power. 56.5 cm of spiral at a steady 7 cm, which the maker calls an advanced plug.
  • Best for serious stretching: Ouch! Mega X. 29 cm insertable, widening from 6.3 to 12 cm.
  • Biggest anal plug: Ouch! Ultra Collosus. Three sections from 11 to 14.5 cm and 3392 g, only for men who already take the Mega X.
  • Best inflatable: XR Brands Expander. The hand pump detaches once you reach your size, the plug keeps its shape, and a valve lets the air out quickly.
  • Best tunnel plug for real fullness: Sono No.51 Large. Hollow, 127 mm long and 71 mm at its widest, with three widening rings.

The plug size ladder

Diameter is the number that matters for stretching. Length decides how deep a toy goes, weight how it sits.

How to choose an XXL plug

  • Width first. Choose the next plug by its widest diameter, about half a centimetre to a centimetre above what already feels easy.
  • Shape. Cones and stepped plugs let you stop anywhere along the way. Spirals and rings give waves of sensation. A plug with a constant width is harder, because the full width arrives at once.
  • Weight. Large PVC plugs weigh one to more than three kilos and press down when you ride them on a suction cup, so stay seated and in control.
  • Base. Anything you insert needs a suction cup or flared base as a stop.

Inflatable plugs

An inflatable plug goes in small and grows inside you, so you stretch with one hand on the pump instead of changing toys. Pump one squeeze at a time, wait, and let air out the moment it feels like too much. Test the release valve before you insert. Most inflatables, the Expander included, contain latex: skip them if latex irritates your skin and never use oil-based lube with them. More models are in inflatable toys.

Tunnel plugs

A tunnel plug keeps you open while it is in, and lube or a bullet vibrator fits through the hollow core. The XR Brands Clear View Extra Large is 12.7 cm insertable, about 7.1 cm at its widest with an inner opening of about 4.4 cm, in see-through TPE. Our guide to tunnel plugs and hollow butt plugs covers sizes and wear, and the tunnel plugs section has the full range.

Long dildos and anal snakes for depth

Depth is a different skill from width. A long toy has to follow the bends of the colon, so it needs flex and a modest diameter rather than bulk. Our XXL dildos guide covers the giant dildos in detail.

Lube: how much and which type

The anus makes no lubrication of its own, so with big toys lube is never optional. Use a thick anal lube or fisting lube, coat the toy and yourself, and add more at every step or as soon as you feel drag.

  • Silicone toys such as the Diamond plug: water-based or hybrid lube, never silicone lube.
  • PVC, TPE, latex and steel: water-based or silicone-based lube, which lasts longer in long sessions.
  • Latex inflatables: never oil or vegetable fat, which weakens latex.
  • No numbing lube. Pain is the signal to slow down; switching it off is how injuries happen.

How to stretch safely

  • Prepare. Douche gently beforehand if you like (see how to use an anal shower and our douches).
  • Warm up. Start every session with fingers or a smaller plug from lower on your ladder.
  • Go slowly. Breathe out as you push and pause at the widest point until your muscles relax.
  • Size up only when ready. Move on when the previous size goes in easily and feels good, not just bearable.
  • With a partner. Agree on a safeword and let the receiver set the pace. For fisting, read fisting for beginners first.

Time limits

Keep a new size to 10 to 20 minutes, breaks included. Big PVC plugs are for a session, not for hours or overnight. Leave a day or more between heavy sessions, and never try a new maximum when you are tired, drunk or high.

Warning signs: stop at once

  • sharp, stabbing or burning pain instead of fullness
  • more than a trace of blood on the toy
  • pain that continues after the toy is out
  • numbness, or no longer feeling where the toy is

Stop the session when any of these happen, and see a doctor if bleeding or pain does not stop. Curious about pumping? Read anal pumps and rosebud pumps before you combine it with stretching.

Cleaning and storage

Wash every toy straight after use with warm water and mild soap or a toy cleaner. Clean the inside of tunnel plugs with a bottle brush and dry inflatables completely, valve and hose included. Do not boil PVC, TPE or latex. Store large PVC plugs away from TPR and TPE toys, as the makers advise, and out of direct sunlight.

Frequently asked questions

What is the biggest anal plug?

In our range, the Ouch! Ultra Collosus: 33 cm insertable, 11 to 14.5 cm in diameter and 3392 g. The Ouch! Mega X, widening from 6.3 to 12 cm, is the step below.

How do I start anal stretching?

Find your comfortable size with a plug set such as the Sono No.80, then go up about half a centimetre to a centimetre in diameter at a time, with thick lube and a warm-up every session.

How long can I keep an XXL plug in?

Keep a new size to 10 to 20 minutes including breaks. Large plugs are for a session, never for all day or overnight.

Which lube is best for big toys?

A thick water-based anal or fisting lube, or silicone lube on PVC, latex and steel. Never numbing lube, and never oil with latex inflatables.

Is a long dildo or a wide plug better for training?

They train different things. A plug or cone stretches the opening; a long, flexible dildo or anal snake such as the 55 cm Ouch! snake trains depth. Work on one at a time.

When should I stop?

At sharp or burning pain, more than a trace of blood, pain that stays after removal, or numbness. Stop at once and see a doctor if it does not settle.
